Temple's Tyndale And Morris Snag Big 5 Player Of The Week Honors

Tyndale shot 76.9% from the field last week

March 3, 2008

Ashley Morris, G, Temple

The senior set a personal milestone when she dished out a career-high 11 assists against Massachusetts on Saturday in a 64-46 Owl victory. She added five boards and eight points in that game. Earlier in the week the guard took matters into her own hands as she poured in a game-high 22 points in Temple's game against St. Louis. Ashley's performances helped Temple secure a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season title and a #1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. For the week, she averaged 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7.5 assists.

Mark Tyndale, F, Temple

The Temple senior averaged 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in two Temple wins last week, including a victory over Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's. Tyndale's scoring may not have been abundant but it was timely and efficient as he shot close to 77% from the field over the two contests. Against the Hawks, Mark was instrumental in Temple's 17-4 run to erase a double-figure Hawk lead late in the game. He scored 8 of Temple's last 12 points including the lay-up to win the game with :21 seconds remaining.
